For a business to be eligible to apply for Trading Standards Checked, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Be based in Bromley

  • Provide home improvement or maintenance services

  • Be committed to providing a safe and trustworthy service to the residents of Bromley

The checks that we carry out are extensive. They centre around making sure that the trader is safe and holds all the right insurance as well as making sure that they comply with the law.

Yes if necessary. Although the decision to remove a trader is not taken lightly, there are many reasons we may remove members from the scheme.

With continuous monitoring of complaints, the traders on our scheme need to show through their actions that they are compliant with the Trading Standards Checked Code of Conduct.
